Delist RT. Hon. Egbadon From Transition Committee List Esan North East LGA APC Tells Party Leaders.
By Kingsley Ohens
Esan North East Local Government Council Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the leadership of the party to remove the name of Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon from the party transition committee list as published by the party.
In a press statement on Thursday signed by the local government chairman of the party Emmanuel Ibhagbemien and other party executives in the local government and made available to newsmen, expressed their disagreement with the appointment of Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon as a member of the constituted APC transition committee in Edo State.
They appeal to the governor-elect and APC State Chairman Mr. Jarrett Tenebe to replace Hon. Egbadon. They alleged that he is not a member of the party in the local government as there are several other members who worked tirelessly to ensure victory for Senator Monday Okpebholo and the party APC.
In his response, RT. Hon. Matthew Egbadon on a telephone call said, he does not have any response for the allegations that the question should go to the people who made the appointment.
The letter reads;
PETITION AGAINST RT. HON. MATTHEW EGBADON AS MEMBER EDO STATE TRANSITION COMMITTEE.
The Executive members and the entire membership of All Progressives Congress (APC) Esan North East Local Government Chapter, hereby demand the immediate withdrawal of the name of Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon from the transition committee list released by the party.
We frown very seriously at the inclusion of his name. Our party is founded on principles and beliefs. Nomination and appointment of individuals by the party into any position must reflect these beliefs and principles. The inclusion of the name of Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon directly undermines these principles.
Rt. Hon. Matthew Egbadon is a known member of PDP, he openly financed PDP and worked against our party and our candidates in the last general election (25th February 2023) and in Sept. 21st Governorship election. To have considered and included his name in the transition Committee is misplaced and a blatant disregard to our highly cherished values and the integrity of our party.
We like to state very categorically to his Excellency, the Governor Elect, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, that this development amounts to a betrayal of trust and it must not be condoned.
For the purpose of future appointments, we strongly request consultations and verification by the relevant layer of the party to save us from such embarrassment. Actions like this are capable of killing morale and causing disunity in the party. Therefore, we demand unequivocally, his immediate removal and replacement with a proper party man or woman to serve the interest of our great party.
We appreciate your prompt attention and response to this petition.
