DEFECTION: Esan West LGA Ward 10 APC leaders and Excos Defects to PDP .
….as woman leader, other top party leaders dumped APC in haste
In recent times, defection of opposition party members into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been a reoccurring event in Esan West Local Government Area where thousands of the members of opposition parties including APC, LP and others have abandoned their parties to join the Peoples’ Democratic Party. In Ward 10, defection is almost like a daily routine as the Executive Chairman of Esan West Council Hon. Collins Aigbogun has harvested all opposition members into the fold of PDP.
In a similar event yesterday the 21st of August, 2024, the Executive Chairman of Esan West Council who was ably represented by the Supervisor for Health and Environment Hon. Ikhielea Joe Okhueleigbe received hundreds of APC members into the Peoples Democratic Party in Ward 10, Esan West LGA.
Among the defectors were, the APC women leader Mrs. Patricia Ikhielea, Benue community leader Mr. Samson David, Mrs. Margaret Igna, Omondiagbe Ohons, and the host of others.
The defectors who acknowledged the developmental strides of the Council Chairman Hon. Collins Aigbogun across the wards in the local government said joining the peoples Democratic Party at this time is proper and so to do. The APC as a party has undermined the true essence of democracy and the people we have elected to lead us have paid us with hardship and suffering.
Receiving the defectors, the Supervisor for Health and Environment, Hon. Ikhielea Joe Okhueleigbe on behalf of the Council Chairman assured them of inclusiveness in the party as PDP remains the Peoples’ Party. He further encouraged the defectors to feel free and join hands with other party members in their various units and Ward to consolidate and solidify the good image the party represents.
