CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE BY ESAN YOUNG DEMOCRATS WORLD WIDE
On behalf of the Board of Governors of Esan Young Democrats founded since 2014 and comprising of young politically active Edo leaders of Esan Extraction, I write to congratulate you on your well deserved election as 2024 Edo State Election Gubernatorial flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after a very keen contest with other well meaning aspirants of Edo State origin.
We celebrate you for a hard won victory and are thankful to God that your ticket was not gifted to you but you demonstrated your readiness to win the main election by your ability to wriggle your way through the intriguing thick political labyrinth and bring hope and joy to all Edo State young people, especially to us in Esanland where you come from, for we now believe that no matter where one comes from, if one is diligent, focused believes in God and the people, there is no height such a one cannot attain and no obstacle such a one cannot surmount.
We use this medium to appreciate the Leader of the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing enabling environment for a free, fair and credible contest. We appreciate the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party for their unwavering uprightness. We appreciate the State Working Committee (SWC) for their indefatigable steadfastness. We appreciate the Edo South APC leadership and party faithfuls for their demonstrating the truism in the spirit of Edo Okpamakhin, the oneness in Edo. We appreciate the Edo North APC leadership for their inspirational support for justice, fairness and equity in what now is the Fairness Agenda in Edo 2024. May posterity be fair to all and sundry. We must not fail also to thank the Leader of the APC in Edo State, Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole for his strong leadership role in Edo State. Even though he had his preference in this election, we believe that in the spirit of Party Supremacy which he believes in, he would join Senator Monday Okpebholo to reconcile the Party and lead a successful campaign to win the Edo 2024 election to complete the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo and that of APC.
We use this medium to advice all lovers of the 2024 Gubernatorial flagbearer of the APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, aka Akpakomiza, and the general public to stop vilifying of the other aspirants, or the leaders of the party, who played one role or the other. Take note that even among children of same father and mother, they sometimes disagree, but they forever remain brothers. Do not insult, ridicule or mock any of those who opposed Senator Monday Okpebholo, rather encourage them to close ranks to complete the task ahead in the vision of achieving a greater Edo State, which requires ALL hands to be on deck.
We sue for peace and unity in Edo State. The era of competition among the Senatorial Districts is over. Let us instead promote cooperation among the Senatorial Districts so that Edolites will find home anywhere in Edo State.
For the Bini people, our cultural elder brothers, we thank you for your magnanimity in supporting an Esan candidate. You have sowed a political seed you will reap tomorrow. God bless you all.
For our Owan people, first cousins, the difference between our languages, culture and traditions is like six and half a dozen. You people have demonstrated genuine love and cooperation. We thank you. When you need our help, be sure that we will reciprocate.
For our Akoko-Edo brothers, you did not look at our physical distance or even the real or imagined sins of our past, but supported us. We thank you and assure you of our respect and reciprocity at the appropriate time.
For our cousins, the great Estako people. We can never forget the great sacrifices you made to ensure we got this ticket. You have proven to us that truly, blood is thicker than water.
Our special recognition for our Ekpon brothers living in Edo Central, and our Izon and Igbanke brothers living in Edo South and across Edo State, we thank you for your patience and long-suffering with us the Esan people. We promise that the coming government in Edo State under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo would endeavour to unite the state and spread prosperity to all quarters that no one will be left behind and no one would cry again over marginalization for justice births peace and prosperity.
Conclusively, we thank our Ndi-Igbo, Arewa and Omoluabi neighbours and inlaws in Edo State. We thank you for always identifying with us and we sue for your greater support especially in the coming election.
Once again, we congratulate Senator Monday Okpebholo for a historic victory in the primary election and urge him to work closely with both bi’s supporters and opponents within the party towards winning the general election for together we will achieve greater exploits.
