CBN POLICY – SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT: Esan West Local Government Council sensitizes market places, fuel stations on the need to accept old notes
Earlier today, The Esan West council Boss Hon Friday Amiedamhen Idialu* met with all the Bank managers within Esan west LGA to review the supreme court judgment against the CBN policy on old Naira notes.
In attendance where key leaders of Esan West LGA council, Branch managers of first bank, zenith, UBA, fidelity and others. They gave a review of what their individual companies has instructed to do while carrying out their functions in the various branches.
While speaking, *Hon Friday Amiedamhen Idialu* thanked them for the services they render to the public and also charged them to make life easier for the people by complying with what the court says to accept the old Naira notes as a legal tender by means of making it accessible to the public and also work out easy modalities to allow costumers deposit the old notes without the stress of generating CBN code, there by making the whole process more difficult for customers.
Also speaking was the HOLGA boss who charged the bankers to upgrade the internet network facility to enable effectiveness when carrying out banking transactions. The manages took turns to speak in regards to individual companies policies as to aid the free flow of cash to the public as directed by the administrators regulating them.
Further more, in a joint conclusion, all parties during the meeting agreed that the council Secretariat should go all out to sensitize the public, that both the old Naira note had become a legal tender and the banks are willing and ready to receive and give out both currencies as directed by the supreme court judgment.
An immediate action was taking by the council Boss Hon Friday Amiedamhen Idialu who mobilized the staffs of the council to go all out to the public domain, market places, motor Parks, communities and streets to announce the outcome of the meeting.
