Breaking: Terrorists attack military base in Borno, kill 20 soldiers
No fewer than 20 soldiers are feared killed in an attack on a military base in Karito, Borno state by terrorists.
Blueprint gathered that the assault took place weekend when the fighters launched an attack using various weapons.
Although the exact number of casualties has not been officially confirmed, sources reported that about 20 soldiers lost their lives, and several others were wounded during the attack.
The insurgents also seized vehicles and heavy machine guns before retreating from the area.
Meanwhile, the Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum, has expressed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, condemning the assault as a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by insurgents.
Governor Zulum reassured the public of the government’s continued efforts to restore peace and security in the region, vowing to press on with resettlement and development programs despite the attack.
