A minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has reportedly doled out a whooping sum of $5m to one of the candidates of the political parties standing for election in Edo state, it has emerged.
It was learnt that the candidate of this political party flew into Abuja yesterday night for a meeting with the Minister and that one of those supposed to be a critical stakeholder and umpire in the election was present.
The meeting reportedly held at about 11pm last night and the deal for the rigging of the election was sealed.
In the meeting, a whooping sum of $5m reportedly exchanged hands before the candidate flew back to Benin city this morning, it was learnt.
In another development, report emerged that the President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio has expressed regrets over the choice of candidate Monday Okpebholo due to his lacklustre political outings.
