A lawyer, renowned businessman, and frontline aspirant in Edo 2024 Governorship race, Anselm U. Ojezua has expressed delight at the top quality performance of our women players at the recently concluded Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) in Benin City.
In his words, “I congratulate Her Excellency, Mrs Betsy Obaseki and the Local Organising Committee of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) for the successful completion of arguably the best organised Sporting event in Nigeria this year. Within three years, the Tournament has acquired the recognition of FIFA, the World’s governing body as the leading Women’s Football event in Africa; what is more, each year, Her Excellency draws attention to very topical issues affecting the family and society at large.
This year was focused on Gender based violence” He continued, “The icing on the cake for Her Excellency is the gift of victory from our very own Edo Queens who won the Tournament after a superlative performance”.
Anselm Ojezua concluded that this is one Tournament which must be sustained for the development of Women Football in Nigeria and a source of motivation for our female youth.
