Benin-Ekpoma Highway Gridlock: PFFM Intervenes With Critical Repairs
The Benin-Ekpoma Road, infamous for its severely deteriorated state, has recently garnered attention from Prime Feed and Flour Mills Limited (PFFM), Ewu, Edo State. The road’s condition had become so critical that vehicles were often stranded for extended periods due to traffic congestion caused by large potholes and failed sections, creating serious challenges for commuters and businesses.
In a notable initiative from the private sector, PFFM has announced through its Managing Director, Pastor Henry Amenkhienan, that the company has financed and facilitated the delivery of ten trailer loads of hard-core materials to repair two vital sections of the road—specifically at Ugbiyaya and the Army checkpoint in the Ebute area.
After personally inspecting the work today, Pastor Henry remarked, “The materials have been delivered, and the repairs are underway. We recognise the significance of this road for the people and businesses that depend on it daily, and we are committed to being part of the solution.”
The ongoing repairs will alleviate the persistent traffic bottlenecks that have plagued this route for years. Drivers who previously faced long delays will now benefit from improved traffic flow and expedited transportation of goods and services.
This intervention by PFFM underscores the importance of corporate social responsibility and illustrates the potential for collaboration between private enterprises and public authorities in addressing infrastructure issues.
