Asue Ighodalo Unity Gold Cup Kicks Up In Edo

Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, Chairman/CEO of Truth Live Media Communications LTD, unveiled the Asue Ighodalo Unity Gold Cup as a catalyst for togetherness, peace, and inclusivity, featuring youth teams from various corners of our state – Team Edo North, Team Edo Central, Team Edo South.
Asue Ighodalo is a seasoned lawyer from Okaigben, Ewohimi in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State. He is the current chairman of Sterling bank Plc. Ighodalo is a front liner in the upcoming Edo gubernatorial election, scheduled to take place in 2024.
This occasion is not just a football tournament but a testament of unity, peace and empowerment that Dr. Asue Ighodalo strives to install among the Edo youth.
Engr. Toba Owojaiye, the corporate affairs manager at Truth Live Media who represented Deacon Okpebholo Ray at the auspicious occasion, expressed delight in announcing the collaboration between Truth Live News and Asue Ighodalo support groups, spanning the diaspora and all 18 LGAs of the state, to bring this soccer fiesta to life.
Hon Frank Uyi Omosigho, representing Hon Osaigbovo Iyoha, Chief of Staff, presented the Gold Cup to Truth Live Media LTD’s CEO, Engr Toba Owojaiye, who then handed it to Mr. Newton Fred Erhunmwunse, Chairman of Edo Football Association.
Emphasizing that the tournament goes beyond sports, it serves as a platform for nurturing future leaders. The event is scheduled for December 20th to 22nd at the Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, with a trophy and a prize of 250k for the winner, and 150k and 100k for the second and third-placed teams.
