APC Leader resigns, cites party’s choice in Edo 2024 as reason

Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Esan Central LGA, Ewu Ward 8, and aspirant for the Edo State House of Assembly ticket of the APC in 2023 who stepped down for Victor Edoror, Saintmoses Eromosele, popularly called SME, has resigned from the Party.
In a resignation letter he tendered to Mr Wahab Adamu, the Ward Chairman of the Party in Ewu II, a copy of which is attached to this report, the prolific writer, rights activist and policy analyst cited the party’s choice of gubernatorial candidate for the September election as main reason.
“I cannot in good conscience continue to promote candidates of a party who do not know the difference between a zoo and a museum. I have nothing personal against the men, who have their strengths and weaknesses, but I
do not believe that they are the best that the party could lave produced at this time; neither do I prefer them over
the candidates that some other parties are parading.” SME said.
Eromosele lamented the situation in the APC where he claimed that “the party neglects, suffocates, and resists her young, vibrant, and brighter brains, while courting mediocre, tired and discredited occupational politicians who
are interested only in their pockets. This is a general feeling among youths in the party which has to be
addressed.”
He thanked the party for the opportunity he got to serve but lamented the extreme difficulty in the country which he claimed would not allow decent people to vote APC in future elections.
“Also, with the extreme difficulty in the country today, it is impossible for any decent person to promote APC
without appearing ‘somehow’ to people.” SME said.
He did not however state whether he would be joining the People’s Democratic Party but stated that he would henceforth “focus more on self-development, family, faith, further education, and business.”
Saintmoses Eromosele, a lawyer and public affairs commentator, is an investor in ICT, healthcare and education, said he would devote more of his time to self development, business and further education.
