Angry mob sets criminal ablaze
The angry youth in Agbor community in Ika south local government area of Delta state weekend set a suspected criminal ablaze for stealing motorcycle in the area.
There have been serious complain of stealing in the area, especially motorcycles by suspected criminals who attack unsuspecting members of the public and cart away their bikes and other valuables.
Usually, arrested thieves are handed over to a local, headed by Comrade Monday Kiyem, who would in turn hand such suspects to the police.
It was learnt that the angry mob took laws into their hands and embarked on jungle justice when the crime persisted.
One Joy said, “I don’t know what to say because my sister and mom were rubbed yesterday night. They collected her phone and almost shot them. It was God that saved them.”
The various reactions affirmed the increase of crime in the area.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident but could not give details of the identity of the victim.
