The Board of Trustees (BOT) of The Admiral Augustus Akhabue Aikhomu Foundation (AAAAF), has felicitated with the BOT chairman, Chief (Dr) Leemon Ikpea FNSE, OON, CON, JP on the conferment of an honorary doctorate degree on him by the Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun, Delta State. The BOT in a statement signed by the Secretary of the board on Monday 17th of March, 2025, says it was not a surprise that the prestigious University of Petroleum, decided to honour the BOT chairman with such a degree taking into consideration his selfless contributions to the growth of the educational sector in Nigeria.
The statement reads in part; “Mr Chairman, it is with a sense of pride that I bring you good wishes on behalf of the members of the Board of Trustees of The Admiral Augustus Akhabue Aikhomu Foundation for making us proud with the recent conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree on you by the prestigious Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun, Delta State. This came to us as no surprise because we are all aware of your numerous contributions to the growth of the educational sector in this country and beyond.
The uncountable number of students who have benefited and are still benefiting from your scholarships which you dole out selflessness are living testimonies of your services to humanity. This you have taken further with your donation of the modern state of the art Lee Smart Education Center to the University.
