Igueben, Edo State — The Chairman of the Governing Council of the College of Education, Igueben, Hon. Ephraim Aluobhosele, has reiterated the institution’s unwavering commitment to quality teacher education, describing effective teaching and professional training as the cornerstone of sustainable national development.

Speaking during an official engagement at the college, Hon. Aluobhosele emphasized that the College of Education, Igueben, remains resolute in its mandate to produce competent, ethical, and globally competitive teachers. He noted that the institution has continued to prioritize academic excellence, curriculum relevance, and practical teaching skills in line with international best practices in teacher education.

According to him, quality teacher training is not merely an institutional responsibility but a strategic investment in the future of the education sector and society at large. He stressed that teachers trained at the college are equipped to meet contemporary educational challenges and contribute meaningfully to national growth.

Hon. Aluobhosele also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his firm and progressive stance on improving teaching standards and expanding employment opportunities for qualified teachers. He described the governor’s policies as visionary, people-centered, and critical to restoring professionalism and dignity to the teaching profession.

“The governor’s commitment to strengthening teaching quality and ensuring the employment of competent educators reflects a clear understanding of the role education plays in societal transformation,” Aluobhosele stated. “These reforms align perfectly with the mission of the College of Education, Igueben, and provide a supportive policy environment for teacher training institutions to thrive.”

He further assured stakeholders that the governing council will continue to support initiatives that enhance institutional capacity, promote staff development, and uphold academic integrity. He called for sustained collaboration between government, educational institutions, and relevant stakeholders to reposition teacher education as a catalyst for socio-economic development.

The Edo College of Education, Igueben, he concluded, remains committed to supporting the Edo State Government’s education agenda by producing well-trained teachers capable of delivering quality education at all levels.
