The Special Adviser on Public Affairs and Media to the Governor of Edo State, Hon. Haruna Braimoh, has reaffirmed Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to road infrastructure development, describing ongoing construction and rehabilitation projects across the state as a demonstration of the administration’s determination to improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities and enhance the quality of life of residents.

Braimoh noted that road infrastructure remains a vital driver of development, stressing that accessible and well-maintained roads facilitate the movement of people and goods, improve access to markets and essential public services, and create opportunities for businesses and communities to thrive.

He explained that the Okpebholo administration is pursuing road development across Edo South, Edo Central and Edo North, with a focus on improving connectivity and addressing the infrastructure needs of communities whose social and economic activities depend on reliable transportation networks.

According to him, the government recognises that meaningful infrastructure development goes beyond awarding contracts or commencing construction; it requires proper planning, effective supervision and a commitment to quality delivery. He maintained that the administration remains focused on providing durable roads that will serve residents and support economic activities over the long term.

The governor’s aide also acknowledged that construction and rehabilitation works may temporarily affect traffic and daily activities in some locations, urging residents to exercise patience and cooperate with construction teams to facilitate the smooth execution of projects.

He encouraged members of the public to continue providing constructive feedback on infrastructure needs in their communities, noting that effective communication between government and residents is essential to identifying priorities and ensuring that development initiatives respond to the needs of the people.

Braimoh further stressed that the administration’s infrastructure agenda is aimed at creating practical benefits for Edo residents through improved mobility, stronger economic connections and better access to opportunities across the state.

He reaffirmed Governor Okpebholo’s determination to sustain investment in road infrastructure as part of the broader development agenda, urging residents to evaluate the government’s performance through its projects, policies and tangible impact on communities.

He expressed confidence that continued attention to road construction and rehabilitation would strengthen connectivity across Edo State, support commercial activities and contribute to improved living standards for residents.
