Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea on Sunday, October 4, 2026, worshipped at the King’s Palace Kingdom Liberation Mission International, Ewohimi, where he joined the congregation in thanksgiving and sought divine guidance and prayers ahead of the 2027 political season.
Accompanying Senator Ikpea to the church service was Rt. Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, Edo State Commissioner for Public Security and Safety, a former Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during the service, Senator Ikpea said he had always put God first in every project and endeavour he had embarked upon, stressing that he had never taken the prayers and support of the people of God for granted. He said that as the 2027 political activities had commenced, he could not embark on the journey without first committing it into God’s hands.
He therefore appealed to the congregation to continue to remember him and his team in their prayers throughout the campaign period and during the election, seeking God’s guidance, protection and favour. The Senator also expressed appreciation to the church and its members for their continued support, prayers and commitment to the work of God.
Earlier in the service, the presiding pastor welcomed Senator Ikpea and led the congregation in prayers for him and his team, committing his political journey and future endeavours into God’s hands. Drawing from several passages of Scripture, including Psalms 108, 109, 111 and 112, the pastor emphasised the importance of faith, prayer and complete trust in God.
The pastor also referenced the biblical account of Joseph, whose life demonstrated how faith in God can sustain a person through challenges and lead to greater heights. He prayed for God’s grace, direction, favour and protection upon Senator Ikpea as he continues his political journey, while encouraging him to remain committed to God and give Him the glory in all circumstances.
The congregation thereafter offered heartfelt prayers for Senator Ikpea and his team, seeking God’s continued presence, guidance and blessings throughout their journey towards the 2027 elections.
In response, Senator Ikpea thanked the church for the prayers and support, reaffirming his commitment to always place God at the centre of his endeavours.
The service ended with prayers and thanksgiving, as the congregation committed Senator Ikpea, his team and the 2027 political journey into God’s hands.
