BENIN CITY — Former House of Assembly aspirant and Founder/President of the Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamioje Initiatives, Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamioje, has sponsored 20 youths from the 10 wards of Esan South East Constituency to participate in the Edo Youth Impact Forum (EYIF) 2.0, held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Benin City.
The initiative, according to Ahamioje, is designed to expose young people to practical knowledge, emerging opportunities and the skills required to thrive in a rapidly changing economy.
The participation of the 20 beneficiaries forms part of a broader youth-focused engagement that brought together selected young people from across the 10 constituencies of Esanland for expert-led masterclasses covering technology, the creative industries, entrepreneurship and business development.
In his welcome address to the participating Esan youths, Dr. Ahamioje described their participation as both a privilege and an opportunity, urging them to take full advantage of the knowledge and networking opportunities provided by the forum.
“This year’s EYIF is focused on expert-led masterclasses in technology, the creative industries, entrepreneurship, and business development. It provides a valuable platform for you to discover new opportunities, develop your God-given talents, acquire practical knowledge, and network with other ambitious young people from across Edo State,” he said.
He further challenged the beneficiaries to conduct themselves responsibly and use the opportunity to demonstrate the capacity and potential of young people from Esanland.
“Please represent Esanland well. Be disciplined, respectful, confident, and ready to learn. Be a shining light among your peers and demonstrate through your conduct the excellence and potential of Esan youths,” Ahamioje stated.
The youth advocate also encouraged the participants not to approach the programme as mere attendees, but as active learners who should engage facilitators, ask questions, establish meaningful relationships and acquire knowledge that could translate into personal and community development.
“There will be opportunities for learning, networking, interaction, refreshments, and building relationships that could positively influence your future. Do not merely attend, participate, ask questions, make meaningful connections, and learn something that can move your life and community forward,” he added.
Ahamioje expressed appreciation to those who contributed to the organisation and coordination of the programme, particularly Ms. Obehi and Madam Ayo, for their efforts in mobilising and coordinating the participating youths.
He maintained that empowering young people with relevant knowledge, skills and exposure remains essential to preparing them for leadership and economic opportunities.
According to him, the initiative is anchored on the belief that young people can achieve extraordinary results when access to opportunity is matched with adequate preparation.
“Remember, greatness often begins when opportunity meets preparation,” he told the beneficiaries.
The sponsorship of the 20 youths from the 10 wards of Esan South East Constituency further underscores the commitment of the Dr. Ernest Iyere Ahamioje Initiatives to youth development, capacity building and the creation of pathways through which young people can acquire practical skills and broaden their horizons.
Concluding his message, Ahamioje charged the beneficiaries to embrace the experience with an open mind and translate the knowledge acquired into tangible personal and community impact.
He wished the participants an impactful and successful EYIF 2.0, praying that God would “enlarge your vision” and grant them wisdom as they “learn your way into greatness.”
The initiative is expected to strengthen youth participation in skills development while encouraging young people from Esanland to position themselves for emerging opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, creative enterprise and other areas of the modern economy.
