A former two-term member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Patrick Ikhariale PhD., who represented Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency, and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Edo Central Senatorial District, Edo State, has commended ongoing infrastructural development and security interventions in the state, describing recent milestones as evidence of visible governance progress.
Ikhariale gave the commendation while reacting to the pace of work at the Ramat Park Flyover project in Benin City, noting that the level of execution reflects a structured and deliberate approach to infrastructure renewal under the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
He observed that the ongoing transformation of the Ramat Park axis, including the flyover construction and surrounding road improvements, is already improving traffic flow, urban mobility, and public confidence in government projects.
According to him, the quality and speed of work on the project suggest improved coordination between implementing agencies and contractors, adding that its eventual completion will significantly ease transportation challenges and stimulate economic activity in the area.
Ikhariale also referenced the recent security response to the Vegetable Market kidnapping incident in Benin City, commending the swift action of operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, which led to arrests and recovery of items linked to the operation.
He described the development as reassuring, stressing that prompt security interventions remain essential to maintaining public confidence and discouraging criminal networks within the state.
The APC chieftain called for sustained collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, and communities, noting that infrastructure development and security stability must progress together to achieve meaningful development outcomes.
He further urged consistency in project execution across Edo State, stating that visible results in roads, flyovers, and security operations remain key indicators of effective governance.
The Ramat Park Flyover project is currently at an advanced stage and is expected to be completed in the coming months, while investigations and follow-up security operations connected to the Vegetable Market incident are ongoing.
