The Edo State chapter of Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) has held its inaugural strategic meeting, assembling the State Coordinator alongside senatorial and Local Government Area (LGA) coordinators at the State Secretariat within Ehizua Hub Plaza, opposite ITV Glass House on Airport Road, Benin City.
The session attracted key state executives and grassroots coordinators within Benin City for physical attendance, while members outside the capital joined virtually via a WhatsApp group call activated shortly after the opening prayers.
Setting the tone for the engagement, the State Coordinator, Barr. Armstrong Edetanlen Adedugba, stressed the imperative of unity, discipline and teamwork among members, noting that the organisation must remain firmly aligned with its core political objective — the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“It is important that we work together as one team. Our unity is critical to achieving our collective goal,” Adedugba told participants, urging stronger collaboration across the three senatorial districts and their respective LGAs.
Earlier, the General Secretary, Mrs. Rudon Anyanwu, read the minutes of the meeting, after which members formally introduced themselves, signalling the formal commencement of proceedings.
A key highlight of the gathering was the disclosure on the group’s operational headquarters. Adedugba announced that the RHP Secretariat and some executive offices were donated by Mr. Ehizua Osobase, Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who serves as Convener of Renewed Hope Partners.
Participants noted that the donation is expected to fast-track the institutional consolidation of the Edo chapter and provide a functional administrative base for its expanding political and grassroots activities.
Further strengthening the infrastructure push, the State Coordinator revealed that Mr. Andrew Young Ehidiamen has volunteered to rebrand the Secretariat and supply essential office furniture — a move members described as strategic and timely.
Deliberations also centred heavily on organisational architecture. The meeting was informed that several additional executive (Exco) offices will soon be filled to fully operationalise the state structure. The positions outlined include General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officers, Contacts and Mobilisation Committee, Publicity/Social Media Committee, Organising Secretary, and Security Committee, among others.
Consequently, members were encouraged to begin positioning themselves for consideration or recommend qualified individuals, both within and outside the current structure, for the various roles.
The leadership emphasised that the initiative would be driven by the intellectual depth and organisational capacity associated with the group, while also serving as a platform to project committed members to higher responsibilities beyond the immediate framework of Renewed Hope Partners.
To ensure inclusiveness and statewide balance, the distribution of offices will be spread across Edo State, guided by recommendations from Senatorial Coordinators working in collaboration with their respective LGA Coordinators.
The meeting is still ongoing with renewed calls for cohesion, strategic mobilisation and sustained grassroots engagement as the Edo chapter moves to consolidate its structures ahead of future political activities.
