Edo Governor Appoints Christopher Udobor Iyase as Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization

The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Christopher U. Udobor Iyase as the new Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization.

The appointment was officially announced on Friday, January 16, 2026, in a government special announcement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Government House, Benin City.

According to the statement, Mr. Iyase succeeds Mr. Aigbogun Collins, the immediate past Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization, who has been relieved of his appointment.

The SSG noted that the appointment reflects the Governor’s commitment to strengthening youth engagement, empowerment, and inclusive governance across Edo State. Mr. Iyase is described as a dedicated youth mobilizer with a strong passion for the wellbeing and welfare of young people in the state.

Christopher U. Udobor Iyase holds a degree in Public Administration from the University of Benin and is widely regarded for his grassroots involvement and advocacy for youth development.

The appointment takes immediate effect from January 16, 2026.

The statement was duly signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government, reaffirming the administration’s resolve to harness the energy and potential of Edo youths in driving sustainable development across the state.
