Benin City, January 15, 2026 — The Edo State Government has approved a change in the leadership of New Edo Line Transport Services Ltd, the state-owned mass transit company, with immediate effect.

According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Transportation, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State, has approved the termination of the appointment of Ms. Tinyan Otuomagie as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Edo Line Transport Services Ltd.
In line with the governor’s directive, Mr. Smart Aigbodion, the company’s General Manager in charge of Maintenance, has been appointed as Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. He will oversee the affairs of the transport company pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director.
The statement further disclosed that Ms. Otuomagie has been redeployed to the Ministry of Information, where she will be assigned other responsibilities as determined by the Edo State Government.
The Ministry noted that the leadership change takes immediate effect and is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to reposition state-owned enterprises for improved efficiency and service delivery within the transportation sector.
The announcement was signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Uwuilekhde Saturday Idehen, JP, and issued from the Ministry’s headquarters at the Secretariat Complex on Sapele Road, Benin City.
New Edo Line Transport Services Ltd remains a key component of the state’s public transportation framework, providing mass transit services across major routes within and outside Edo State.
