Abuja, Nigeria — Renowned business mogul, humanitarian, and grassroots mobilizer, Chief Dr. Thomas Attah, has joined the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian Armed Forces in the nationwide commemoration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, held in honour of fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in the defence of the nation’s unity, sovereignty, and democracy.
Chief Dr. Attah, widely acknowledged as a detribalized national figure and philanthropist per excellence, aligned with millions of Nigerians in paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering patriotism of officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, both past and present. The annual remembrance ceremony serves as a solemn reminder of the invaluable contributions of military personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Speaking in solidarity with the armed forces and bereaved families, Chief Dr. Attah emphasized the need for sustained national unity, peace, and collective responsibility toward supporting serving personnel and veterans. He noted that the sacrifices of fallen heroes must never be taken for granted, adding that their legacy should inspire present and future generations to uphold the ideals of selflessness, discipline, and national service.
“As a nation, we owe an enduring debt of gratitude to our fallen heroes and to those who continue to defend our territorial integrity under difficult circumstances. Their courage remains the backbone of our collective freedom and progress,” he stated.
Chief Dr. Attah also commended the Federal Government for its continued commitment to improving the welfare of military personnel, veterans, and families of the fallen, while calling on corporate organizations, community leaders, and citizens to complement government efforts through meaningful support and advocacy.
Known for his phenomenal grassroots mobilization efforts and humanitarian interventions across ethnic and religious divides, Chief Dr. Attah reiterated his unwavering belief in a united Nigeria where service, merit, and patriotism transcend tribal sentiments.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed annually on January 15, remains a symbolic national event dedicated to honouring Nigeria’s military heroes and reinforcing the nation’s commitment to peace, security, and unity.
