The President’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport at exactly 11:30 p.m. local time. He was received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi; Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar; and members of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi.

Also present to welcome the President were key members of the Nigerian delegation, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, who later joined the President at his hotel.

President Tinubu arrived in the UAE from Europe, where he held high-level engagements with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Emmanuel Macron of France. Those discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, economic partnerships, and shared priorities in development, innovation, and global stability.

The 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” brings together world leaders, policymakers, investors, and experts to advance practical solutions to global challenges, particularly in sustainability, energy transition, and inclusive economic growth.

In a statement, the Tinubu Mobilization Force (TMF) praised the President’s sustained diplomatic outreach, noting that his participation in ADSW reflects visionary leadership and a clear commitment to positioning Nigeria as a proactive player in global policy and economic discourse. TMF emphasized that the engagements are expected to yield long-term benefits for Nigeria, including increased investment opportunities, strengthened international partnerships, and enhanced global confidence in the country’s reform agenda.

The group further noted that President Tinubu’s presence at the summit reinforces Nigeria’s strong diplomatic and economic ties with the United Arab Emirates, while aligning national development goals with global sustainability frameworks.

According to TMF, the Abu Dhabi visit is not only a testament to President Tinubu’s active foreign policy but also a strategic move aimed at securing positive outcomes for Nigeria and contributing meaningfully to collective global progress.
