Okpebholo Reaffirms Development Agenda as Idris Abdulkareem Commends Visible Progress in Edo

The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustainable development, declaring his resolve to leave the state significantly better than he met it.

The governor made this known during an inspection tour of ongoing and completed projects across Edo Central, undertaken in the company of renowned Nigerian musician Idris Abdulkareem.

Speaking during the tour, Okpebholo emphasized that his government remains firmly focused on delivering measurable improvements in critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He attributed the pace of development to prudent utilization of increased federal allocations under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the governor, the enthusiastic reception by residents during the tour reflects growing public confidence in his administration, driven by visible and impactful projects across the state. He stressed that governance must translate into tangible benefits that directly improve the quality of life for citizens.

“Governance is about results. What our people want to see are functional roads, well-equipped schools, and accessible healthcare facilities. These are the priorities guiding our actions,” the governor stated.

Okpebholo further noted that the administration is strategically deploying resources to address key infrastructural deficits, ensuring that development reaches all parts of the state. He reaffirmed his commitment to accountability and inclusive growth, maintaining that every project undertaken is designed to meet the real needs of Edo people.

In his remarks, Abdulkareem explained that his visit was aimed at independently assessing the level of development in the state. He commended the governor for the visible progress recorded, expressing optimism that ongoing initiatives would yield even greater outcomes in the near future.

“I came to see firsthand what is happening in Edo State, and I must acknowledge the level of work being done. The developments are visible, and there is a clear direction,” he said.

The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kassim Afegbua, also highlighted the administration’s responsiveness to public concerns, describing the governor as a leader committed to people-centered governance. He noted that the scale and quality of projects across the state underscore a deliberate effort to drive meaningful development.

The inspection tour is expected to continue across other senatorial districts, including Edo South, as part of the administration’s broader effort to monitor project execution and ensure delivery standards are maintained.
