Hon. E. Abumere Endurance, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leader in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, has formally resigned his membership of the party, citing the need for a new political direction aligned with his vision for service and development.
In a resignation letter dated April 11, 2026, and addressed to the Edo State Chairman of the PDP through his Ward 5 Chairman in Ekpoma, Abumere stated that his decision followed “careful reflection and extensive consultations” with political associates and key stakeholders.
The former youth leader expressed appreciation to the PDP for the opportunities he enjoyed during his time in the party, particularly his role in grassroots mobilization and youth engagement across Esan West. He described his tenure as both impactful and personally enriching.
Abumere, however, noted that evolving political realities and his commitment to advancing development in Edo State informed his decision to step away from the PDP. He announced plans to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of Chief Hon. Joe Edionwele and the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
According to him, the move is aimed at enabling him to contribute more effectively to governance and the realization of the administration’s SHLNE Agenda, which he described as pivotal to the growth and progress of the state.
“It has been a profound privilege to serve under the platform of the PDP,” Abumere stated, adding that the relationships and experiences gained during his time in the party would continue to guide his future political engagements.
He extended his gratitude to the leadership and members of the PDP for their support over the years and wished the party success in its future endeavors.
Abumere’s resignation marks a notable shift in the political landscape of Esan West, particularly within the youth constituency, where he has been an active figure in party organization and mobilization.
