High Chief Leemon Agbonjagwe Ikpea CON Leads Late Augustus Akhabue Akhomu Foundation to Celebrate Chief Tom Ikimi at 82, Laud Legacy of Service and Nation-Building

The Board of Trustees Chairman of the Late Augustus Akhabue Akhomu Foundation, High Chief Leemon Agbonjagwe Ikpea, CON, has led members of the board in celebrating elder statesman and distinguished son of Esanland, Chief Tom Ikimi, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday.

Chief Ikimi, born April 10, 1944, is a renowned Nigerian politician and trained architect who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1995 and 1998, a period marked by significant diplomatic engagements for the country.

In a statement personally signed by High Chief Ikpea and made available to newsmen through the Foundation’s National Secretary, ESV Ambassador Tony Okonigene, the Board of Trustees paid glowing tribute to the celebrant’s enduring legacy of leadership, patriotism, and service.

The Foundation commended Chief Ikimi’s outstanding contributions to national development, describing him as a statesman whose commitment to the Nigerian project has remained steadfast over the decades. It noted that his role in shaping Nigeria’s foreign policy during his tenure as Foreign Affairs Minister continues to resonate within diplomatic circles.

Highlighting his impact beyond national assignments, the statement acknowledged Chief Ikimi’s invaluable contributions to community development and his consistent support for initiatives that uplift the people of Esanland. The Foundation further recognized his active role within the Late Augustus Akhabue Akhomu Foundation, where his guidance and experience have strengthened the institution’s vision and outreach.
