The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea, has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the successful conduct of its 8th National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja, describing the exercise as a demonstration of unity, maturity, and internal cohesion within the ruling party.

The convention, which produced a new National Working Committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement ratified by delegates, reaffirmed Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman of the party, alongside other principal officers tasked with steering the affairs of the APC.

In his message, Senator Ikpea commended the leadership of the party for what he described as a well-organized and peaceful convention, noting that the consensus-driven process reflects a strengthened internal democracy and a shared commitment to the progress of the party and the nation at large.

He particularly congratulated the re-elected National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, urging him to consolidate on the achievements of the party while fostering inclusivity, discipline, and strategic coordination across all party structures.

Senator Ikpea also extended his felicitations to other members of the newly constituted National Working Committee, including the National Secretary, Surajudeen Basiru; National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka; and National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, commending their emergence as a reflection of competence and trust reposed in them by the party.

He emphasized that the successful convention marks a critical step in repositioning the APC for future electoral contests, urging the new leadership to prioritize unity among members, strengthen grassroots engagement, and uphold the progressive ideals upon which the party was founded.

Senator Ikpea further expressed optimism that the newly elected NWC would build on the party’s existing structures to enhance organizational efficiency, deepen internal democracy, and sustain the APC’s relevance as a dominant political force in Nigeria.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment, alongside other party stakeholders, to supporting the leadership of the APC in delivering on its mandate and contributing to national development.
