Sir Sylvester Aigboboh, Edo State Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator and APC Deputy Chairman, expressed confidence that the forthcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be peaceful, democratic, and devoid of internal conflicts.
Speaking on the sidelines of the party’s world press conference in Abuja, Aigboboh likened the convention to the final stage of baking a cake, noting that the groundwork had been carefully laid from the ward level through local government and state congresses.
“The processes leading up to the convention demonstrate our commitment to internal democracy and adherence to the party’s constitution and Electoral Act,” he said. Aigboboh highlighted the largely peaceful conduct of congresses across various zones as evidence of the APC’s ability to manage its affairs without rancour.
“Disagreements are natural, but we have mechanisms to resolve disputes effectively,” he added. Aigboboh reassured party members and the public that the convention will reflect orderliness and transparency.
“The convention will be rancour-free, strengthening our democratic credentials and reinforcing public confidence in our internal processes,” he stated. The APC National Convention is expected to culminate in new party leadership, setting the tone for future political engagements.
