The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Akhere Ebojele, the Governor commended the Muslim community for their unwavering devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment throughout the fasting period. He noted that their dedication to prayers, charity, and self-restraint reflects values essential for societal growth and cohesion.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized that the principles of sacrifice, compassion, tolerance, and selflessness demonstrated during Ramadan remain critical in fostering unity, peace, and sustainable development. He urged adherents to uphold these virtues beyond the festive period and continue promoting harmony and mutual respect across religious and ethnic divides.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and the well-being of all residents, the Governor stressed that unity remains a fundamental pillar for achieving lasting progress in the state. He also called on citizens to use the Eid celebration as an opportunity to pray for continued peace, stability, and advancement of both Edo State and the nation.
“Eid-el-Fitr is a time of joy, reflection, and gratitude. Let us celebrate in peace, extend love to one another, and remain steadfast in our collective responsibility to build a better Edo State,” the Governor stated.
Governor Okpebholo concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous, and fulfilling Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
