International Women’s Day: ISTH CMD, Prof. Reuben Agbons Eifediyi, Celebrates Women for Their Role in Healthcare and Society

The Chief Medical Director of the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Irrua, Prof. Reuben Agbons Eifediyi, has extended warm felicitations to women across Nigeria and the world as they commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day.

In a goodwill message marking the global celebration, Prof. Eifediyi lauded the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of women, particularly those in the medical and healthcare sectors, noting that their commitment continues to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve societal wellbeing.

The ISTH Chief Medical Director emphasized that women remain central to the advancement of medicine, public health, and community development, stressing that their compassion, professionalism, and leadership have continued to shape the healthcare system in Nigeria and beyond.

According to him, female healthcare professionals—including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, and other allied health workers—play a critical role in ensuring quality patient care, advancing medical research, and promoting public health awareness.
