The Uwessan Football Community is set to stage an exciting novelty football match in honour of respected matriarch, Madam Sametu Oboh, in what promises to be a memorable reunion of football veterans and emerging talents from the community.
The special sporting event will feature a thrilling encounter between the Uwessan Senior Men Team Across the Globe and the Home-Based Team, bringing together distinguished sons of Uwessan who once graced the pitch and those currently representing the community’s growing football talent.
The novelty match is designed not only to celebrate Madam Sametu Oboh for her remarkable contributions and influence within the community, but also to rekindle the spirit of unity, friendship and sportsmanship that football has long fostered among Uwessan people both at home and in the diaspora.
Football enthusiasts and community members can expect a nostalgic display of skill, experience and passion as the “men of yesterday” return to the pitch to showcase their enduring fitness and flair, while the home-based players demonstrate the vibrant talent of the present generation.
