Ubiaja Community Secondary School, located within the Ubiaja in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, came alive on Thursday, February 26, 2026, as students, staff, parents, and community leaders gathered for the school’s much-anticipated Inter-House Sports competition.
The vibrant sporting fiesta showcased the athletic talents, discipline, and cultural richness of the students through a series of engaging activities, including football competition, cultural dance performances, and a colourful march past by the various houses.
The football competition drew enthusiastic cheers from spectators as teams displayed teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship on the field. The cultural dance segment added glamour to the event, with students proudly showcasing traditional heritage through rhythm, costume, and coordinated performances. The march past, marked by precision and coordination, reflected the discipline and unity instilled in the students by the school’s leadership.
The event was chaired by Dr. Ernest Ahamioje, Edo State House of Assembly hopeful for Esan South East Constituency, who was represented by Hon. Prince Miracle Ogbebor, Team Leader of Dr. Ernest Ahamioje Projects Initiatives.
Delivering the chairman’s goodwill message, Hon. Miracle Ogbebor emphasized the importance of healthy competition in shaping well-rounded students. He noted that inter-house sports not only promote physical fitness but also foster teamwork, leadership skills, discipline, and mutual respect among young people.
He reiterated the chairman’s unwavering commitment to supporting initiatives that advance educational development and youth empowerment within Esan South East. According to him, partnerships between community leaders and educational institutions remain critical to building a stronger foundation for future generations.
Hon. Ogbebor further conveyed Dr. Ahamioje’s pledge of continued collaboration with Ubiaja Community Secondary School to enhance infrastructure, promote sporting excellence, and create opportunities that will inspire students to achieve their full potential.
He also used the occasion to commend the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, applauding the administration’s strides in strengthening education and sports development across the state. He called on residents to sustain their support for the Okpebholo-led administration, noting that consistent backing would ensure the consolidation of ongoing reforms and developmental gains in the education sector.
The Inter-House Sports event concluded on a high note, with awards and commendations presented to outstanding participants.
