Hon. Henshaw Oligbi Boosts APC E-Registration, Mobilises Grassroots in Esan Central

Urbanscoopnews reporting

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Esan Central Local Government Area received a significant boost on Sunday, 25 January 2025, as Hon. Henshaw Oligbi, Managing Director of the Edo State Transport Authority, supported the party’s ongoing electronic registration exercise in Ward 2.

Hon. Oligbi donated a laptop, an HP printer, a broadband router and registration papers to facilitate a smooth and efficient registration process. The equipment was immediately deployed to support the electronic capture of new members, addressing logistical constraints that often affect party activities at the grassroots level.

In addition to the material support, he embarked on mass mobilisation and sensitisation within the ward, engaging party members and residents on the importance of participating in the APC e-registration exercise. The engagement focused on strengthening party structures, improving membership data and encouraging broader participation in party affairs.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Oligbi enjoined political appointees across Edo State to actively support the party at the grassroots, stressing that sustained local engagement remains critical to the success of the ongoing registration exercise and the party’s long-term growth. He noted that collective commitment from party leaders and appointees would enhance unity and reposition the APC for future political contests.

Leaders, executives and stakeholders of the party expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. In a remark, the party’s Super Leader, Hon. Christopher Abuya, commended Hon. Oligbi for his commitment, noting that Ward 2, being the ward of the Governor, must remain unique in both organisation and performance. He stated that the support provided by Hon. Oligbi made the registration exercise easy, seamless and efficient, significantly reducing operational challenges at the ward level.

Hon. Abuya further called on other party members and leaders to emulate what he described as the exemplary leadership of Hon. Oligbi, whom the party referred to as the engine room of Ward 2. He noted that such dedication and practical support were critical to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.

The Ward 2 exercise forms part of the APC’s broader strategy to consolidate its structures across Edo State through electronic registration and sustained grassroots mobilisation, as the party intensifies internal reorganisation and membership expansion ahead of future political engagements.
