Ekpoma, Edo State — The Edo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sir Dr. Lucky Eseigbe, Esq., has applauded the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, for what he described as bold, people-centered leadership following the approval of major road infrastructure projects in Esan West Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Sunday, Sir Dr. Eseigbe—also a frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Esan West, Esan Central, and Igueben Federal Constituency—described the Governor’s decision as a transformative intervention that underscores a deep commitment to inclusive development and equitable governance.

The projects, which received formal approval at the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, cover five critical road corridors strategically positioned to unlock economic growth and improve mobility across Esan West. The approved roads include:

According to Sir Dr. Eseigbe, the inclusion of these projects in the 2026 Edo State Budget is a clear indication that the Okpebholo administration is not driven by rhetoric, but by measurable action and delivery.

“This intervention will significantly strengthen inter-community connectivity, enhance security architecture, stimulate local commerce, and improve the overall standard of living of our people,” he noted. “It reflects a government that listens, plans, and executes with integrity.”

The Commissioner further highlighted the Governor’s collaborative leadership style, noting that sustained engagement between the state government and key stakeholders has been instrumental in translating community needs into actionable policy outcomes.

Sir Dr. Eseigbe reaffirmed the unwavering support of the people of Esan West for the Okpebholo administration and its development blueprint, particularly the SHINE Agenda, which he described as a pragmatic roadmap for sustainable growth in Edo State.

He also emphasized the constituency’s readiness to align with progressive political movements aimed at consolidating good governance, including support for the 2027 BAT political mandate, in the interest of continuity and stability.

“As leaders, our responsibility is to stand with initiatives that deliver real value to the people,” Sir Dr. Eseigbe stated. “Governor Okpebholo has demonstrated that commitment, and Esan West remains firmly aligned with his vision.”

The statement concluded with a call for continued unity, partnership, and citizen engagement as Edo State advances on its path of infrastructural renewal and socio-economic transformation.
