Esan North East, Edo State – January 17, 2026
In a significant demonstration of political solidarity, party leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Esan North East have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Hon. Prince Odianosen Henry Okojie, the incumbent representative for Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency.
The resolution emerged from an expanded stakeholders’ meeting convened on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the party’s local secretariat. The gathering brought together the full complement of the Local Government Area (LGA) executive members, including 27 LGA executives and 11 ward chairpersons, to review the achievements of APC lawmakers in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
During the deliberations, members commended Hon. Okojie’s legislative performance, highlighting his proactive representation in the National Assembly. His initiatives, particularly the “Operation Light Up Agbazilo Scheme,” were cited as transformative projects spanning all 11 wards of Esan North East, with ongoing expansions into neighboring Esan South East.
Hon. Ayewoh, the LGA secretary, underscored the rationale for the vote of confidence, emphasizing the lawmaker’s consistent engagement in grassroots development, empowerment programs, and federal employment initiatives that have positively impacted constituents’ livelihoods. He also highlighted Hon. Okojie’s contributions to education and healthcare, noting the construction and equipping of primary healthcare centers, as well as the modernization of schools with ICT facilities.
Speakers at the session lauded Hon. Okojie’s active participation in the legislative process, describing his motions and bills as “well-received and influential” among colleagues. Hon. Ayewoh described the endorsement as a reflection of both the party’s and constituents’ trust in Okojie’s leadership, integrity, and commitment to accountable governance.
The meeting concluded with an official endorsement for Hon. Okojie’s re-election bid, led by Hon. Emmaniel Ibhagbemien, Chairman of APC in Esan North East, along with all stakeholders present. Party officials affirmed that with leaders like Okojie, Edo State is positioned for accelerated development and strengthened democratic representation.
