FG Ministers Align on Economic Reforms, Investment Strategy for 2026
Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to economic reform and sustainable growth as senior finance officials convened to align priorities for the year ahead.
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, on Monday held strategic consultations with the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, as part of ongoing efforts to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda.
The high-level engagement focused on strengthening macroeconomic stability, restoring investor confidence, and accelerating reforms aimed at unlocking domestic and foreign investment. Discussions also reviewed policy coordination frameworks to ensure effective implementation of fiscal and economic priorities across government institutions.
According to officials familiar with the meeting, emphasis was placed on deepening domestic capital formation, enhancing revenue mobilisation, and supporting private-sector-led growth as Nigeria navigates a challenging global economic environment.
The ministers also underscored the importance of policy consistency and transparency in positioning Nigeria as a competitive and resilient emerging market.
The meeting forms part of a broader series of intra-government engagements designed to fast-track economic reforms, improve fiscal discipline, and drive inclusive growth. These efforts align with the administration’s medium-term objectives of stabilising the economy, boosting productivity, and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
Under President Tinubu’s leadership, the Federal Government has pursued wide-ranging reforms aimed at addressing structural imbalances, strengthening public finances, and fostering a more enabling environment for businesses and investors.
The Ministry of Finance is expected to continue engagements with key stakeholders in the coming months as it translates policy priorities into measurable economic outcomes.
