The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has announced the postponement of students’ resumption and the commencement of academic activities for the institution.
The decision, approved by the University Management on behalf of the Senate and led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mrs. Eunice Eboiserehimen Omonzejie, was taken to allow for the completion of ongoing renovation works across student structures and key university facilities.
According to the Management, the temporary adjustment is aimed at improving infrastructure and creating a more conducive environment for teaching, learning, and academic excellence within the university community.
In a statement released by the Information and Public Relations Division of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, the University emphasized its commitment to students’ welfare and the long-term enhancement of learning facilities, noting that the renovations are critical to sustaining quality education standards.
As part of the directive, students currently residing in university hostels have been advised to vacate immediately to enable uninterrupted and effective completion of the renovation works. The University assured stakeholders that a new resumption date would be announced in due course.
The Management also disclosed that the 140th Inaugural Lecture, earlier scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2026, has been postponed. Additionally, ongoing examinations have been suspended, with assurances that revised dates for both the lecture and the completion of examinations will be communicated to the university community at a later time.
The University expressed appreciation to students, parents, and guardians for their understanding and cooperation, urging all stakeholders to comply fully with the revised arrangements. Parents and guardians were particularly encouraged to ensure that their wards are adequately informed and prepared to resume academic activities once the new schedule is released.
