President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rejoiced with Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, popularly known as Abena, a longtime political associate and seasoned public servant, on the occasion of his birthday, celebrated on January 9.

In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President extolled Abegunde’s enduring commitment to professionalism, loyalty, and service to the public good, describing him as a dependable associate whose political journey has been marked by consistency and steadfastness.

President Tinubu noted that Abegunde has remained a loyal ally over the years, adding that his dedication to public service and good governance has continued to earn him respect within and outside the political space.

“Hon. Abegunde has consistently demonstrated professionalism, resilience, and loyalty in his political and public service career. His commitment to serving the people and supporting progressive ideals stands as a testament to his character,” the President said.

Abegunde, a trained civil engineer who later pursued architectural studies, ventured into public service through elective politics. He was elected twice to the House of Representatives, where he represented the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency of Ondo State, making notable contributions to legislative activities and constituency development.

Beyond his legislative role, Abegunde has served in various capacities within government, bringing to bear his technical expertise, administrative competence, and broad professional experience in the execution of public duties.

President Tinubu acknowledged Abegunde’s wide-ranging experience in governance and public administration, noting that his service record reflects a commitment to excellence, discipline, and effective leadership.

The President prayed for Abegunde’s continued good health, strength, and longevity, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience would continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.
