….says there are still rooms for improvements
The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has applauded the Edo State Government under the headship of His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki for the ranking of the state by The West African Examination Council (WAEC), in the just concluded WAEC 2023 examination. The Council had ranked Edo State as the third best in the nation after Abia and Anambra States. Jigawa, Zamfars and Yobe states were the least ranked.
In a statement issued in his office in Benin today, the PDP State chairman, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, praised the state Governor for this feat. He noted that since Governor Godwin Obaseki took over the helms of affairs in the state, Edo has moved up the ladder in educational activities in the state and nation. He particularly singled out the EdoBest initiative of the Obaseki administration as a huge success that has translated into the remarkable performances of the state at national levels.
” The recent release of the rankings of states by WAEC in respect of its 2023 examination was received with joy by the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Being ranked 3rd in the nation is worth celebrating especially if we consider our rankings 8,9 10 years ago.
” We applaud His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state for this great achievement and the improvement in our educational sector. The EdoBest initiative has become the toast of the various reforms initiatives by most of the states. The recent performances of our children in national and state examinations are testimonies to the success of the program.
” We concede that there are rooms for improvements especially in the physical infrastructure of our schools . However, we have hope because of the zeal and patriotism our leader, the Governor, has shown in reforming the educational sector in the state. By the grace of God, all the dilapidated structures you see in our schools, you shall see them no more”. The statement read.
